There will be wilderness stories — canoe trips on the Churchill River in Saskatchewan, establishing the South Cottonwood Trail, and others.
For now, we post our current challenge — saving the wild lands of the Custer Gallatin National Forest. We are founding members of the Gallatin Wildlife Association and the Gallatin Yellowstone Wilderness Alliance. Find resources below.
The mission of the Gallatin Yellowstone Wilderness Alliance is to protect and restore wild lands of the Custer Gallatin National Forest, and other lands of the Northern Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem.

LOVE WILD!
We have this one chance to save Montana’s wilderness, over 700,000 roadless acres in the CGNF. You ask: “Why Wilderness?” Wildlife needs wild lands. Wilderness gives joy and restores our souls. Wilderness supports our economy with its beauty, and by providing opportunities for quiet outdoor activities. It protects our waters, cleans our air, and stores carbon to mitigate climate change. The people of Montana and the American people support wilderness. We need to protect these lands for wildlife and for future generations. Did you know that Montana has a wilderness deficit? Montana has been plundered enough. Let’s save the wilderness while we can.
